How we work with the Education System
Establish relationships with educational authorities that lead to teaching the life of Jesus in their schools.
Project Jesus for Children meets with a leader in the ministry of education twice a year, providing them with reports and creating/maintaining a friendship and government permission. Our ultimate goal in each country is to help the ministry of Education distribute and use our material in the class room. The Project Jesus workers also train and motivate the regional supervisors.
Train teachers to use the material in their classrooms during school hours.
We present and distribute the material to the teachers during the first 3 months of the school year, training them how to use it. Then we contact them mid-way through the year for follow-up, giving them help in the use of the material. At the end of the year we do a survey on their use of the material and receive testimonies of lives changed. Each project worker visits or calls up to 50 teachers a day, where they also have the opportunity to share God’s love and hope to the teachers and students. Through the approval and support of the educational authorities, government paid teachers are guiding their students in the study of the life of Jesus during school hours. Students now study math, writing, reading AND Jesus!
Provide educational material based on the life of Jesus and Christian values.
Project Jesus for Children produces educational material that is based on the life of Jesus then distributes it to public schools. We work toward every child in the country studying a student book every year from preschool to high school. Each student book goes through the life of Jesus, guiding students at each grade level through learning and application of moral values such as gratitude, kindness, equality, honesty, hope, identity and physical integrity. A project worker handles 50 to 500 schools each year. Every visit has to be documented, creating a thorough data base. A project worker visits a school multiple times a year, motivating and helping the teachers in the use of the student books.
Lead students to Jesus through the use of the student books based on His life.
In every lesson, the students are lead to the desision to follow Jesus and his teachings. One of those lessons is special; it teaches the students of Jesus’ salvation. The impact in the life of the students is incredible. Frequently we hear stories of improved behavior, better grades, less violence, more obedience and cleaner neighborhoods. The students become agents of change in their families and communities. This is the amazing result of the word of God!
During follow-up with the teachers, we ask the students questions about the material and if they know the Bible verses, to get an assessment of what part of the material the teacher has used. Sometimes we do a class with the students to help the teacher in the use of the material. As well as the follow-up done to 10-30 teachers a day, a project worker does approx. 5 of these demonstration classes a week during the last 4 months of the year. During follow-up, the children renew our stength with their smiles, answers, hugs and appreciation in their eyes.
